Aprilia SVX engine

Aprilia claim the weight of this engine at 26 kg! It is produced in 450 cc and 550 cc versions and powers their Supermoto SVX bikes that were released in late 2005.

 

This is one engine we considered for our 95Racer project but was ultimately deemed not quite powerful enough. It’s high maintenance requirement of 26 hours between rebuilds didn’t meet our needs either.

 

Still, it’s a very compact and lightweight marvel!
