The 95Racer |

This project, our most ambitious project to date had its genesis in the unfortunate disappearance of the well loved Ducati 916R. Having raced a high horsepower superbike for a good part of two seasons, this project is supposed to represent the opposite, that is light weight, lower horsepower but higher corner speed. Simply put the aim was to build the 4-stroke equivalent of a 250 cc Grandprix machine. At the same time, of course, we were realistic enough that on our minute budget we wouldn’t quite be able to build a motorcycle fully on par with our main target: The Honda RS250-RW. If at least we could get close to a privateer Honda RS-250 or Yamaha TZ-250, it should be a great bike to ride and race in UK club racing. The code name 95Racer means to imply a racing motorcycle with a dry weight of 95 kg and 95 rear wheel horsepower. Or, put another way, a bike that attains the often elusive 1HP per kg ratio. The following pages chronicle the progress of this highly ambitious project from design phase, through construction, to track testing and sanctioned racing. We would be very interesting in any comments and feedback you may have.
